Central Tablands Chapter MANSW - AGM 2012

CENTRAL TABLELANDS CHAPTER
MUSEUMS AUSTRALIA

A Messaqe from the President to all Museums and Historical Societies

To the President and Secretary:

Please read this letter in correspondence at your next monthly meeting.

Dear Members of the Central Tablelands Chapter,

The Central Tablelands Chapter held a very successful Annual Meeting and Social Day on the 14th May 2011 at Mudgee. During the morning, John Broadley gave a power point presentation on the history of Mudgee and its many historic buildings. This was followed by a walking tour of the Catholic and Anglican Churches. I am hoping that the upcoming Annual Meeting at Carcoar will be just as well attended.

During the year, the Chapter held a very successful Project Day on Saturday, 14th September 2011 on Collection Management. lt was hosted by Kandos Bicentennial Museum and conducted by Judy Coombes and Nicky Balmer from the Powerhouse Museum. Their wonderful presentation gave many valuable ideas for Chapter members on how to successfully catalogue their collections.

The Carcoar Hospital Museum I Carcoar & District Historical Society are the hosts for our next meeting on Saturday, 12th May. They have organized a very interesting program to highlight their historic Village. Carcoar was gazetted in 1839 and is the third oldest settlement west of the Blue Mountains. lt has a wealth of well preserved historic buildings and is definitely worth a visit.

Our Social Day will commence with our Annual Meeting of the Chapter followed by a Luncheon. All positions on the Committee will be declared vacant and we will be looking for people to fill these roles. I would request that members of your Society consider nominating for the various positions.

Once again, I urge members of your Society to attend the Annual Meeting and Social Day in Historic Carcoar and support your Central Tablelands Chapter. This organization is specially set up to support all Historical Societies on the Tablelands. lt can only be successful if the members of the Chapter support its activities and participate.

Please register your attendance to the Secretary, John Broadley by Saturday, 5th May 2012.

I look forward to meeting you in Carcoar on Saturday, 12th May 2012.

Trevor Pascoe
